MOUNTY R. P. ZENTARA Биография

Mounty R. P. Zentara was born in 1964. He is an Austrian lighting , installation and conceptual artist. Zentara lives in Vienna. The formerly self-taught artist Zentara studied from 2002 to 2008 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. His works rests on this metaphor of the cage as a viewing machine. His cages are "eye-catchers". They address the eye to show problematic issues regarding the gaze. Wherever he interprets or excavates his cages he does this like an archaeologist finding cages in everyday locations, so marking the blind spots that have been concealing what one doesn't want to see, and now has to find. In 2003, he founded the art project "AREA 53", an exhibition space for contemporary national and international art in the 6th Wiener Bezirk, District of Vienna.
